Tips for choosing a primary care provider (PCP)

To help you choose a PCP, think about your answers to these questions:

  • Do you want to keep the PCP you have now or choose a new PCP?
  • How far are you willing to travel to see your PCP?
  • Do you need a PCP who speaks a certain language?

If you want to keep the doctor you have now, search by provider to see if your doctor is in any of the health plans. Then choose a plan your doctor is in.

If you want to choose a new doctor as your PCP, ask people you trust for names of doctors they like. Then search for health plans those doctors are in.

You can also search for providers near you or for providers who offer services in the language you want.
