The Physician Assured Access System (PAAS) is a Managed Care Program (MCP). The State began this system of primary care case management in 1992. When you choose PAAS as your MCP, you must select a doctor who participates in the PAAS network.
You will receive an enrollment packet which will include:
- An enrollment form for each eligible family member
- A list of PAAS providers for your area*
- A PAAS brochure explaining the services
- A postage-paid envelope
Either complete and sign the enrollment form(s) or call 1-800-449-8466 to
enroll by phone.
There are physicians on the PAAS provider list who only take current patients. If you choose one of these providers, you will need to have the provider sign a form to say that they will agree to see you as a patient (PAAS Dr. Approval Form).
If you call to enroll, we will need the name of someone in the doctor's office who will approve seeing you as a patient.
Once you have enrolled, your choice of provider will be printed on your medical card. You must take your medical card with you when you go to the doctor. If you have a newborn in your household, please choose a doctor for your newborn as soon as possible.
It is very important that you make a choice. If you do not choose, a doctor will be chosen for you. You can call 1-800-449-8466 to change your doctor or if you have a concern or a complaint. An Enrollment Specialist is available from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. weekdays. You may leave a message after hours or on weekends and your call will be returned the next working day.
