Mission/Vision:

The State of West Virginia is dedicated to the goal of improving the health of West Virginians. With that overriding goal in mind, the Bureau for Medical Services (BMS), Office of Medicaid Managed Care, began a Medicaid managed care program in 1996 called Mountain Health Trust.   Mountain Health Trust is based upon the concept that each Medicaid consumer will have a medical home - a family doctor who knows your and your family's medical history.  Knowing the medical history means that a doctor can plan preventive care for each family member. The children will receive their well-child care in a timely fashion; other family members will receive the necessary screenings to maintain good health.   Any potential for serious health threats will be caught early by a family doctor who knows that family and their health care needs.  This is the vision of Mountain Health Trust.
